A fresh outbreak has been reported by China about a particular pathogen which is more fatal than the previous Corona virus as a man has already died from this virus named Hanta virus. And now this death is continuously sparking fears as someone may have got infected from the man.
Well, this Hanta virus is typically pertained from rodents and its spread can infect the person with any of the Hanta virus and can cause HPS or hantavirus pulmonary syndrome and HFRS or haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome.
Countries like Italy and China who were already suffering from the deadly threat of Corona virus got panic after getting this fresh news of Hanta virus. Almost everyone went to the internet to know about the roots of this new virus and the ways through which it can infect anyone.
This Hanta virus’s fear and the damage it can cause by causing HPS was confirmed by the centre for disease control (CDC) itself. And the very first man facing the consequences of this virus was from China and it has been said that it came from the rats of China. But fortunately this disease is not airborne as you will get infected only if come in direct contact with the rodent’s saliva, urine or feces.
But unlike the Corona virus, this Hanta virus pandemic is not going to hit the world. Moreover, centre for disease control has given a confirmed statement that there is no chance of this virus getting spread all over as this virus is a rare kind of virus and can’t get transmitted from one human to the another one.
Symptoms Of Hanta Virus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS)
In the early stage of HPS a person may get a lot of casual symptoms including fatigue, fever, muscle ache, dizziness along with headache just like in the case of influenza including some kind of abdominal issues. But if the person is left untreated, then this infection directly hits the lungs leading to coughing and shortening of breathing along with filling the lungs with some kind of liquid.
Whereas the initial stage of HFRS are exactly the same as HPS except for some factors like it can cause low blood pressure, acute kidney failure and some kind of vascular leakage.
Well, there is no particular vaccine that can help a patient infected with such a virus except taking the patient instantaneously to a hospital and getting an intensive care unit or ICU. The centre of disease control or CDC also suggests taking the patient immediately to the hospital as sooner the infected person will get appropriate care at ICU, he will recover.
How Can You Minimize The Risk Of Hanta Virus?
There is no specific thing that you can do except minimizing the contact with rodents at your premises by filling up all kinds of holes or gaps. You can install traps at different spots to combat any rodent infestation.
Hanta virus has hit the world in the time when everyone is already facing the crisis of deadly Corona virus. But the best we can do is take precautions and disinfecting everything around us.
